A burning question for many tourists: how do you pay for public transport in Belgrade? Drivers don’t accept payments, there are no conductors, so what do you do? 🤯😱
Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
You can purchase tickets for public transport in Belgrade in two ways: by SMS or in paper form. Important: keep your ticket or SMS confirmation until the end of your journey!
🚍 SMS Ticket Purchase: Available only to local SIM card holders. Send an SMS with the text “A90” to 9011. The reply SMS is your ticket. This is the most common ticket type, valid for 90 minutes on all types of transport, including transfers within Zone A. As a tourist, you will rarely venture into Zone B, so we won’t go into detail about that. Remember: SMS “A90”.
Your account will be charged 50 dinars + the cost of the SMS, so make sure to top up your phone immediately after purchasing your SIM card and paying for your tourist package.
🚍 Paper Tickets: Available at city sales points, the addresses are listed in the carousel.
🚍 You can also buy a paper ticket at any “Moj Kiosk” next to public transport stops. Simply say to the vendor: “Jedna karta za autobus na 90 minuta, zona A, molim vas.” It sounds like: “Yedna karta za autobus na devedeset minuta, zona A, molim vas.” This means: “One ticket for the bus, Zone A, ninety minutes, please.”
